Why You Should Hire a Cannabis SEO Expert

Welcome to the wild world of cannabis marketing where you can’t pay for ads on most platforms. Your posts are sometimes censored for their content, even when the plant is legal in the state where you’re operating. You start writing blogs to increase traffic, but you don’t really have a plan. You spend hours, no days, wasting time trying to come up with topics and interesting information to write, only to see no return over the next few months. What gives? You probably need a cannabis SEO expert to help.

A laptop open to a Google search page sits on a wooden desk with a notebook, pens, a smartphone, and a model cannon.

You know how I mentioned that you can’t run ads on social media? It’s the reason so many cannabis companies rely on content marketing through a variety of channels, with blogs being the most important tool.

I’ve talked about why cannabis marketing should center around content, specifically blogs, in a previous post. Today I’m going to dive deeper and talk about why you can’t just start writing blogs and expect to see returns. You need a plan.

Cannabis is a competitive, saturated market

When I first started writing cannabis blogs, I didn’t know a lot about SEO. I’ll admit it. I thought I could just pick a keyword and run with it, expecting my words to bring in traffic simply because I picked popular search terms.

That’s the issue, though. Some search terms are VERY popular. If you write a blog targeting “dispensary” expecting to reach the first page of Google and see a massive increase in traffic, you’re in for a big disappointment. Trust me, you’re not the only one thinking about these popular search terms.

You need to think outside of the box, get in the customer’s head, and research the search terms that will actually help you rank higher on Google. And this takes time, effort, and money.

If you’re running a cannabis company, let’s be real, you are probably already wearing too many hats. Throw in the need to sit down, come up with a list of keywords, test them out using an SEO tool, and then write a well-written blog that incorporates all of the SEO best practices and you’ve got a recipe for half-baked writing and disappointment.

Cannabis SEO experts can help

I use a top-of-the-line keyword research tool to come up with a list of keywords before every blog I write. It makes a world of difference and is the reason I have grown companies to not just the first page of Google for specific terms, but also the first position on Google for important search terms.

As someone who has been writing search engine optimized posts for multiple years now, I know the ins and outs of SEO content writing and am able to write relevant, informative blogs that naturally incorporate keywords.

We’ve all seen blogs that are stuffed full of keywords, poorly written, and obviously just attempts at ranking high on Google. It doesn’t look good and it often drives customers away.

There’s a way to write relevant blogs that actually increase traffic without sounding like you’re keyword stuffing. Take this blog! Have you noticed me sprinkling important keywords throughout? Probably not, but they’re there!

As a cannabis SEO expert blog writer, I come up with entire content strategies for your team. I know you’re busy and have a lot on your plate, so I take it upon myself to do all of the heavy lifting around your content. All you have to do is approve topics and approve the post when submitted. Then watch your traffic steadily increase as Google picks up your new blogs.
